This recall involves Vornado VH2 Whole Room Heaters manufactured in July 2024 and August 2024 which were sold online at Amazon.com between August 2024 and October 2024. No other Vornado VH2 heaters are recalled.
Due to some cord openings in the enclosure being out of tolerance, the power cord can partially detach from the heater enclosure which can lead to cord damage over time, posing electric shock and fire hazards. Your safety is our priority, so please stop use, unplug your heater and participate in the recall.

Check the silver label on bottom of heater. If “TYPE VH2” and date code of either “JUL24” or “AUG24” appear on the silver rating label located on the bottom of the heater, your heater is recalled. The date code will appear as the first five digits of the serial number printed on the silver label.
Only VH2 Whole Room Heaters with a “JUL24” or “AUG24” date code are recalled. Any date code other than JUL24” or “AUG24” is NOT affected by this recall.

Yes, Vornado continues to manufacture VH2 Whole Room Heaters. Only units of the VH2 Whole Room Heater model with either a “JUL24” or “AUG24” date code are included in this recall. Units with any other date code are not subject to the recall.

You can complete the registration process over the phone by calling the Vornado Recall Team toll-free at 844-205-7978 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday from anywhere in the US and Canada or via email at vh2recall@vornado.com.
After confirming your product is part of the recall, the team will provide you with instructions on how to safely disable your recalled unit and ask you to provide a photo for validation. Upon validation and acceptance of your registration, we will send you a free replacement heater. Thank you for acting quickly—we’re committed to getting your replacement to you as soon as possible!
For your safety, we need to confirm that the recalled heater is no longer operational. Disabling the unit is a requirement of participating in the recall.
Go to the recall website www.vornado.com/recalls/vh2 to confirm whether your unit is recalled. Only VH2 Whole Room Heaters with a “JUL24” or “AUG24” manufacture date code are recalled. Once confirmed, you will be provided directions for disabling your unit and sending a confirming photo to Vornado.
We are not offering a repair or refund on these units. Consumers with a recalled heater are being offered a free replacement heater.

Upon registration and verification that you have disabled your recalled VH2 Whole Room Heater, Vornado will send you a replacement heater without delay to the name and address provided in the registration. The whole process should take no longer than 3-4 weeks.
Yes, if you have your heater you can participate in the recall. The required photographs of your recalled unit will serve as the proof-of-purchase. Please contact our Vornado Recall Team to assist in your recall registration.

No. You no longer have a recalled unit and therefore are not eligible for a recall remedy.

Returning your recalled heater to Vornado is not required to participate in the recall. In fact, it is faster and easier to just register with our team and provide a photo of your disabled product. Please note, unless you provide the required photo or return your recalled product, you will not receive a replacement product. Please contact the Recall Team if you have any questions or concerns about returning your product.

CANADA RESIDENTS: A refund based on average purchase price of your recalled model or valid proof of purchase is the only remedy available. A refund check in USD will be issued to registered name and address.
